Want to make some cute and simple decor? You're in the right place...

This cute yet simple lamp only takes 5-10 minutes to make! So how do you make it you ask? well lets get right to it!

Materials:

  • Any clear bottle, lantern, cardboard shoebox, etc.

  • Cotton balls or Pillow Stuffing

  • Hot glue

  • Clear/Grey Duc-tape

  • Led lights or Fairy lights

  • Ceiling hooks OR Command hooks

  • String (preferably clear or white) (if you want to hang your lamp on the ceiling)

  • Music (just to keep you company:) )

How to:

1) First, start off by hot gluing your cotton balls all over your bottle/shoe-box/lantern. If you're using a shoe box, then first tape your lights onto your box before gluing the cotton balls on it.

Try to thin out the cotton balls or pillow stuffing by ripping it gently. This will give it a more "fluffy" look, so it''s not so sharp/defined looking.

- If you want to create a table lamp, then you don't really have to use cotton balls on the bottom side of your bottle/shoe-box/lantern, because it won't be seen.

- If you're going for a ceiling light look, then it's best to cover your whole bottle/shoe-box/lantern with cotton balls. For this look, I would recommend using remote controlled lights, just so it's easier for you to turn them on/off, without the hassle of taking it down all the time.

This may take a few minutes.

2) After you finish hot gluing your cotton balls, you can start inserting your lights into your bottle/lantern.

If you used a shoe-box, then you can start hot gluing your cotton/stuffing onto your box at this time. Make sure you don't glue your cotton directly onto your lights, but rather around them. This way, you don't get hot glue over the wires, and you can just thin out your cotton/stuffing to cover the wires.

If you're just creating a table side lamp, then you're done!

3) If you're hanging your cloud light on the ceiling, then this step is for you.

Take your string and tape it to your bottle, shoe box, or lantern. Then, hot clue over your tape just a little to make sure it's stuck on there well.

Once you feel like your string is secure, create a little loop knot at the end of your string (the side that will be hanging off the ceiling).

4) Now, stick your command hooks (or insert your ceiling hooks) onto your ceiling. Make sure it's set AWAY from any ceiling fans!

Once your ceiling hook/ command hook is set into the ceiling and is secure, you can hang your new cloud light onto it!

Here's one in my room made from a shoebox and led lights. I hug this one in my room as a ceiling light rather than a table lamp.

Now you can just turn off your lights and *BAM* there they are! Cute right?!

Love,

Shriya
